Central Park Ponds Project nominated for construction award!
Brilliant news- our Central Park natural flood management project has been nominated for an award!
The Plymouth Central Park Ponds Project has been recognised by the construction industry. The scheme has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Construction News Awards for the Project of the Year (under £20m) Category! The ongoing Sustainable Drainage scheme at Central Park in Plymouth has been shortlisted in recognition of its positive impact both in an Environmental and Sustainable capacity.
The project is an innovative nature based solution to flooding issues in the park, increasing both amenity and biodiversity value. It does this by turning rainwater from a problem into a resource for wildlife, creating new wetland habitats and slowing the flow of water through a series of natural flood management interventions
This project was made possible through joint working between Plymouth City Council, Devon Wildlife Trust and Green Minds Plymouth partners, in collaboration with the local community.
