Green Minds Webinar: Nature Based Solutions in a Growing City
Find out how Green Minds is restoring nature, managing environmental challenges and supporting communities through nature based solutions.
This webinar is brought to you by Green Minds, a city-wide movement to find innovative nature-based solutions to solve environmental challenges and give nature a voice.
We all know by now, business as usual is not enough if we are to stop the destruction of the natural world and the massive impacts to our way of life. With Sir David Attenborough’s recent documentary ‘Extinction: The Facts’, shocking many, California wildfires raging, and the residents of Fairbourne being declared as the UKs first climate refugees - it is clear a shift change is needed in thinking and action.
This webinar will feature the change happening right here in Plymouth, and how we can learn from other organisations developing and supporting nature-based solutions that restore nature, manage environmental challenges and support our communities. Hosted by Zoe Sydenham, Projects and Partnerships Manager at Plymouth City Council; we are delighted to introduce you Dr Phoebe Carter, Kat Deeney and Becca Lovell.
The South West Partnership for Environmental and Economic Prosperity (SWEEP) is a is a collaboration of three research institutions: the University of Exeter, Plymouth Marine Laboratory and the University of Plymouth – working together with a large group of highly engaged business, policy and community partners.
