New rockery at the Wolseley Trust's community garden!

The Wolseley Trust's gardening group, supported and led by Green Communities, has created an incredible new rockery at their community garden.

Previously an unloved bank choked with ivy and bramble, gardening group volunteers Ruth, Nick and Brian have transformed the area through a lot of hard work and dedication!

Many of the items used to create the rockery were repurposed, following the ethos of our gardening group to find creative ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. Old pallets were donated by local businesses at Wolseley Trust Business Park which were used to create new 'shabby chic' fencing. The stones were left over from a stone walling course held at Central Park. The star of the show, the amazing succulents, were home-grown by volunteer Nick and donated to the garden where we hope they will thrive in their new habitat.

Not only a space for plants, the rockery is now also home to some beautiful artwork created by the nearby Compassionate Cafe. The Green Communities team hosted a pebble painting workshop with the cafe, where the group used treasured memories of loved ones or nature to inspire their artwork.

The pebbles are on display in the new rockery, and we invite anyone to pop by to find a little corner of peace and tranquillity, and to admire the artwork.
