Transforming community planters at St Mark’s Church, Keyham
Green Communities and Transforming Plymouth Together have worked together to restore the beautiful community planters for St Mark’s Church in Keyham.
The planters in front of St Marks Church along Cambridge Road in Keyham were previously unused but are now blooming with life. With the hard work of both Green Communities and Transforming Plymouth Together, the planters are now home to variety of colourful and wildlife-friendly plants and herbs.
One of the planters features native flowers such as primroses, and drought tolerant plants that will provide interest all year round. It is also now home to many pollinator friendly plants that will provide a vital source of nectar for insects on their journey through Keyham.
The second planter is now a wonderful community herb mini-garden, filled with fragrant herbs such as fennel, marjoram, rosemary and chives. We welcome any local residents or passers-by to pick any of the herbs and brighten up their meals! Residents can also support by removing any weeds on their way by.
Thank you to Transforming Plymouth Together and St Marks Church for their support.
