Tree planting at Headway's centre in Devonport Park

Our Green Communities and Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest teams have been busy with local charity, Headway Plymouth!

The teams were joined by Plymouth Tree People and children from a local primary school and everyone rolled up their sleeves to plant 20 trees! They have been planted around the Headway centre and will help to provide canopy cover and shade, sequester carbon, and attract more wildlife like insects and birds to the site. As well as this, the improved nature space will also provide Headway clients and members of the local community with a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.

This tree planting is the first phase of the redevelopment of Headway's outside area and community gardens, so watch this space...

This scheme is part of the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest project, made possible through DEFRA's Trees for Climate Fund.
