FULLY BOOKED: Festival of Nature at Poole Farm

A day of nature surveying, nature activities, and wildlife walks! Please book tickets for each attendee (not including children under 1)

Please note that this event is fully booked - keep an eye out on the Eventbrite link for any spare tickets.

Plymouth’s Festival of Nature is a large community event, which will include wildlife surveying and family activities, to try to count as many species as we can at Derriford Community Park. Our aim is to showcase our wonderful natural world as well as inspiring people to think more green.

The event will run from 10am-4pm with various activities running throughout the day.

To start the day you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly volunteers. Then you can start exploring the farm!

In the barn you can visit a number of stalls run by our partners and local organisations who want to show you the amazing work they've been doing in the city & opportunities to get involved in your local community.

Over the course of the day there will be lots of different expert-lead wildlife walks where you will be learning about the amazing natural world in Plymouth. So, whether you love to count creepy crawlies, or want to survey some beautiful trees, you'll find it all here at Plymouth's Festival of Nature.

For any of you budding ecologists there will be a chance to analyse your findings in our science lab. You will be able to look closely at your sample under the microscope and find out what species it is, with help from one of our volunteers.

We will have family friendly nature themed activities, bush craft skills, and arts & crafts. Here you can learn about how to bring more nature to your own home.

If you need to find some quiet, check out our wellbeing hub- have a rest in for a while before you head back out there for some more nature fun!

We will have food vans on site providing delicious food for all, including vegan options.

We hope you're as excited as we are to find out what species we have here at Derriford Community Park, and to learn more about your natural surroundings. Remember to wear appropriate footwear, eg, boots/wellies, and bring raincoats/umbrellas just in case! We advise you bring lots of water, and sun cream.

So come along to Plymouth's Festival of Nature, get outdoors, and think more green!

Unfortunately not all of the farm is accessible by wheelchair/pram. There will be lots to do around the farmyard that is accessible though. We are working on creating new pathways around the farm to make more of it accessible to all.

Please park in Tor Bridge High car park from 9:00am. The address for this car park is; Tor Bridge High, Miller Way, Plymouth, PL6 8UN. This car park will be closing around 4pm.

Please note if you are travelling other than by car please use google maps from your relevant bus stop to Rydal Close. Please bear in mind there are works being done close to the farm so you may want to check the route ahead of travelling. Please ignore the pedestrian access instructions on the Plymouth City Council website.

The closest bus stop is Keswick Crescent via the 50 or 51 bus. It is a less than five minute walk from there to the farm please put in '23 Rydal close' to your google maps and turn right there into a small residential car park. You will see the Derriford Community Park sign at the end of the car park.
