Learn about Plymouth’s bats and how to find them at Central Park
As part of the Take Action For Wildlife series of citizen science training events, join Jess Smallcombe, Community Ecologist from Devon Biological Records Centre, and Plymouth City Bats to discover which bats live in Plymouth. We have 16 species of bats in Devon, many of which can be found in and around Plymouth. Join us for a bat walk around Central Park and borrow a detector to learn how to find bats using their calls.
You must book your place so we know you are coming. All welcome, no prior knowledge is needed. No dogs please.
If you have a bat detector, please bring it along. You need to bring a torch as we will be walking in the dark. Also comfortable footwear and warm clothing, as the temperature can drop at night.
Meeting point: Central Park, near the clocktower and by the Meadow Café, Mayflower Dr, Plymouth PL2 3DG, Plymouth. Arrive just before 8.30pm.
Parking is available close by at Milehouse Park and Ride, Outland Road, PL2 3DE.
If you can’t make it, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite to allow others to book. On the day, any problems, let Jess know by emailing jsmallcombe@devonwildlifetrust.org or texting/calling 07823498503.
