Join us with Devon Moth Group to explore the amazing world of moths! Find out how to setup light traps, identify moths & learn about the important role they play & how you can help them at home. Booking essential

As part of the Take Action For Wildlife series of citizen science training events, come and join Devon Biodiversity Records Centre Community Ecologist Jess Smallcombe and members of Devon Moth Group at Poole Farm. We’ll be setting out light traps for moths. Local experts will be on hand to help with identification of the species caught. Most moths only fly at night and are hardly noticed unless they accidentally come indoors. At this event we will be able to get up close and have a look at moths we catch. We will be recording them for the Green Minds Project. The moths will then be set free. We will be discussing what YOU can do to help encourage moths, from night-scented flowers to reducing light spill, as well as finding out the important role moths play in our ecosystems.

Location: Meeting point will be provided in an email nearer to the event.
