Webinar: Join the Rebel Botanists!
This free webinar is brought to you by Green Minds, a city-wide movement to find innovative nature-based solutions to solve environmental challenges and give nature a voice.
We all know by now, business as usual is not enough if we are to stop the destruction of the natural world and the massive impacts to our way of life. With Sir David Attenborough’s recent documentary ‘Extinction: The Facts’, shocking many, California wildfires raging, and the residents of Fairbourne being declared as the UKs first climate refugees - it is clear a shift change is needed in thinking and action.
This webinar will feature the change happening right here in Plymouth, how we can take a nature-based approach to our city, restore nature, manage environmental challenges and support our communities. Hosted by Eva McGrath, Green Minds social scientist at the University of Plymouth, we are delighted to introduce you Plymouth’s very own Rebel Botanists!
The Rebel Botanists are a passionate and growing group of Plymouth residents encouraging people to notice nature by simply labelling a plant in chalk on a street, with both their English and botanical name. The Rebel Botanists have already drawn lots of positive attention in the press and with the wider public and inspired positive actions to increase the biodiversity across the streets and green/blue spaces across Plymouth.
