Local Green Heroes Exhibition

This project was a brilliant example of joining up nature connection with curriculum briefs.

The Green Minds project coordinator at AUP presented Green Minds to the pre-degree course leaders and was approached by members of AUP staff. The coordinator of the Extended Diploma in Photography requested a live client brief that would allow students to practice commercial and documentary projects.

Arts University Plymouth then linked up with fellow Green Minds project partner, Real Ideas Organisation and asked for help finding social enterprises with whom to collaborate. Real Ideas linked the students with local community groups -Snapdragons, Pollenize, Stiltskin Theatre and Keyham Green Spaces- who then liaised with the ‘clients’ to create images they wanted for promotional purposes. This culminated in an exhibition in Cornwall Street, Plymouth city centre, which was attended by the community groups, photographers, and their proud family members.
