Tree planting success- whatever the weather!
In spite of the cold weather we've bene experiencing, frozen ground can’t stop our tree planting team- they’ve pressed on through ice and snowy conditions to plant 253 trees in just one week!
Last week, the brilliant Street Services team were all over the city planting trees, from Newnham Meadows in Plympton: 200 whips (young saplings) to Central Park where a new orchard and wildlife area was created, with 20 whips (small trees) of fruiting and native trees!
This week the team are planning on planting over 500 whips across the city! A huge well done and thank you to the team who are making this happen.
