Amazing Allotments at Central Park!
Devon Wildlife Trust joined Swarthmore Allotment Association over winter for a day of hedgerow creation!
Green Minds Urban Ranger, Helen from Devon Wildlife Trust, joined Swarthmore Allotment Association in November for a community tree planting event in the heart of Plymouth by Central Park. Community members aged from 18 months to 60+ helped plant 120 Woodland Trust trees. A mix of hawthorn, dogwood, hazel, dog rose and crab apple will provide a wonderful home for wildlife and a natural boundary to the allotments! Watch the video here.

We hope your 2023 is filled with wonderful wildlife and moments connecting to nature. The year has begun with record breaking temperatures across Europe and we’ve seen the evidence in our surroundings - primroses flowering months before spring, hedgehogs stirring from their slumber. By providing food for wildlife through the seasons, like nectar-giving plants which flower at different times of year, you can help animals be more resilient to the effects of climate change.
