Collaboration with Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest

Green Communities and Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest are working together to plant hundreds of trees and hedgerows with Plymouth communities in Devonport, Keyham, and Central Park.

Guided by local people and organisations sharing their neighbourhood expertise, the teams are finding areas which would benefit from new trees and other things like bird boxes, bug hotels and spring bulbs to make places better for both people and nature.

Through this collaboration, there will be many different ways to get involved, all geared towards community-led greening, nature connection, and green skill sharing. These activities will happen alongside a broad range of people, communities, organisations, and schools.

This planting scheme is supported by the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest, a partnership project, funded through the ‘Trees for Climate’ fund as part of the Department for Environment, Food, & Rural Affairs (Defra) ‘Nature for Climate’ fund.
